Polymers (P) based on (co)poly-.alpha.-hydroxyacrylic acid, optionally in a lactonised or salt form, optionally as Mg complexes, are characterised by containing carbohydrate units and 2-hydroxy-2-carboxyethylene-1,2 monomer units and are useful as biodegradable, alkali-resistant stabilisers for peroxide bleaching agents.

Ces polymères (P) à base d'acide (co)poly-.alpha.-hydroxyacrylique, le cas échéant sous forme lactonisée ou sous forme de sel, le cas échéant comme complexes de Mg, se caractérisent par une teneur en motifs glucidiques et en motifs monomères de 2-hydroxy-2-carboxyéthylène-1,2, et sont utiles comme stabilisateurs biodégradables résistants aux alcalis, pour agents de blanchiment aux peroxydes.
