ABSTRACT This invention concerns a subsea communication system with use of physical environment,for transmit- ting signals over short distances, consisting of a - first part (1) placed in some kind of unit, with an op tical transmitter/receiver inside it and a transparent window (2) in its side, and a second smaller part (3) connected by a lead(4) to the other point with which communication is to be made, said second part (3) hav- ing an optical transmitter/receiver inside it as well, and a transpartent window (5), communication between said first part (1) and second part (3) taking place by the sending of a luminous beam (6) from one part to the other, through the aforesaid windows (2,5) and the surrounding physical environment (7).
