22 ABSTRACT A multiple addressing station transmits a facsimile signal via a communications satellite, using the multiple address communications mode. In this case, the multiple addressing station transmits a facsimile signal via at least one channel of multiple audio channels ch1, ch2 of a satellite communications circuit. This facsimile signal is received by a satellite communications receiver of a terminal station. At the terminal station, the received facsimile signal is sent to a switching control device, and at this switching control device, the facsimile signal and a control signal are sent to a facsimile device by the switching control. The facsimile device generates a switching signal which, based on a control signal from the switching control device, switches over the facsimile signal coming from this switching control device by using a switching means, and sends the facsimile signal that is inputted through the above procedure is sent to a decision means inside a facsimile device. At the decision means, an identification signal that is contained in the facsimile signal that has been received and transferred at the switching means is judged, and when that decision result is satisfactory, the facsimile device is made to carry out an image receiving operation for the facsimile signal from the satellite communications circuit.
