A solution having a high concentration of ammonium (meth) acrylate and which is substantially free of (meth) acrylonitrile is made by enzymatic hydrolysis of (meth) acrylonitrile in the presence of water using an enzyme which has Km for (meth) acrylonitrile below 500 µm and Ki for ammonium (meth) acrylate above 100,000.

On obtient une solution à forte concentration de (meth)acrylate d'ammonium sensiblement exempte de (meth) acrylonitrile par hydrolyse enzymatique de (meth) acrylonitrile en présence d'eau, en recourant à une enzyme dont le Km pour le (meth) acrylonitrile est inférieur à 500 mu m et le Ki pour le (meth)acrylate d'ammonium est supérieur à 100 000 mu m.
