Abstract A method for the detection and/or visualization of particle agglutination, comprising: placing a volume of a suspension of the particles on a filter, the filter being constructed so as to permit passage of individual particles; placing a volume of a solution or suspension containing an agglutinating agent at the location of the particle suspension; optionally placing a wash solution at the location of the agglutinating agent; and observing the surface at the location for the presence of particles, such presence indicating that agglutination of the particles occurred. There is also provided a method for detection of agglutination reactions in general and hemagglutination reactions, such as used in blood grouping and cross-matching, in particular. The method is comprised of successive vertical additions of whole blood, blood grouping reagent and wash to a filter. In case of hemagglutination a colored, preferably red or reddish dot becomes visible after washing. A device and a kit based on the invention is also claimed and facilitates blood grouping and matching in non-laboratory environment without the need for laboratory instruments.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de détecter et/ou de visualiser une agglutination de particules qui consiste: à placer un volume d'une suspension de particules sur un filtre, ce filtre étant construit afin de permettre le passage de particules individuelles; à placer un volume d'une solution ou d'une suspension contenant un agent d'agglutination à l'emplacement de la suspension de particules; à placer, éventuellement, une solution de lavage à l'emplacement de l'agent d'agglutination; et à observer la surface au niveau de cet emplacement afin de détecter la présence de particules, cette présence indiquant que l'agglutination des particules s'est produite. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant de détecter des réactions d'agglutination en général et des réactions d'hémagglutination particulières, telles que celles utilisées pour déterminer un groupe sanguin et une compatibilité croisée. Ledit procédé consiste en adjonctions verticales successives de sang total, de réactif de détection de groupe sanguin et de solution de lavage à un filtre. En cas d'hémagglutination, un point coloré, de préférence, rouge ou rougeâtre devient visible après lavage. L'invention concerne enfin un dispositif et un kit facilitant la détection d'un groupe sanguin et de sa compatibilité dans un environnement hors laboratoire sans avoir recours à des instruments de laboratoire.
