Systems and methods for profiling power cycle characteristics in a device powered at least by a battery are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: detecting a series of power cycle events, examining the series of power cycle events for at least one indication of reduced life of the battery; storing the indication; and notifying a user of the device about the indication. Each power cycle event indicates a transition between line power and battery power.

L'invention porte sur des systèmes et des procédés qui permettent d'établir le profil des caractéristiques des cycles d'énergie dans un dispositif alimenté au moins partiellement par pile. Dans un mode de réalisation, le procédé consiste à détecter une série d'événements de cycle d'énergie, examiner la série d'événements de cycle d'énergie à la recherche d'au moins une indication d'une durée de vie réduite de la pile; stocker l'indication; et notifier l'indication à l'utilisateur du dispositif. Chaque événement de cycle d'énergie indique une transition entre l'énergie provenant de la ligne d'alimentation électrique et l'énergie provenant de la pile.
