ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a bite block for use with an endotracheal tube, having an elongated hard core of generally C-shaped cross-section and also including a material which is softer than the core, the softer material being secured to a portion of the exterior of the hard core, and a portion of the hard core being exposed. The bite block can be secured to a standard endotracheal tube by taping the exposed portion of the hard core to the tube. Preferably, the bite block has two radial apertures through the softer material and the hard core to permit securing of the bite block and tube to a patient with a flexible strap.
