On décrit un procédé de séparation en lit mobile simulé corrigeant les perturbations de compositions d'un extrait (EA), ou d'un raffinat (RB) dues au volume mort introduit par au moins une pompe (P) ou d'un compresseur de recyclage d'un mélange liquide supercritique ou gazeux dans une boucle fermée de tronçons de colonnes. On diminue d'une valeur appropriée le volume du tronçon immédiatement en amont du volume mort lorsque ledit volume mort est situé en aval de ce tronçon et en amont des courants de soutirage dudit tronçon, ou l'on diminue d'une valeur appropriée le volume du tronçon immédiatement en aval du volume mort lorsque le volume mort est situé en aval des courants d'injection dans ledit tronçon et en amont de ce tronçon. - Application à la séparation des isomères d'hydrocarbures aromatiques à 8 atomes de carbone
