The invention relates to an input peripheral for a computer or the like, comprising a movable part (6, 60) manipulated by the operator and equipped with electrical sensors (40, 41) able to generate electrical signals destined for the computer in response to operator-imposed movements of the movable parts. According to the invention, the movable part comprises a shell (6) linked to a fixed base (2) by means of a kinematic link devised so as to permit any movement of the shell (6) with respect to the base except for a displacement along a direction substantially perpendicular to a bearing plane of the base, the movable part furthermore comprising a fairing (60) which is entrained by the shell (6) and which comprises a lateral wall (63) which extends in such a way as to prevent any intrusion under the shell (6) regardless of the position of the latter.

L~invention concerne un périphérique d~entrée pour ordinateur ou similaire, comportant une partie mobile (6,60) manipulée par l~opérateur et équipé de capteurs électriques (40,41) aptes à générer des signaux électriques à destination de l~ordinateur en réponse à des mouvements de la partie mobile imposés par l~opérateur. Selon l~invention, la partie mobile comprend une coque (6) reliée à une base (2) fixe au moyen d~une liaison cinématique agencée pour autoriser tout mouvement de la coque (6) par rapport à la base à l~exception d~un déplacement selon une direction sensiblement perpendiculaire à un plan d~appui de la base, la partie mobile comprenant en outre un carénage (60) qui est entraîné par la coque (6) et qui comporte une paroi latérale (63) qui s~étend de façon à empêcher toute intrusion sous la coque (6) quelque soit la position de celle-ci.
