A positioning and storage apparatus for pipe sections for a service rig comprises a deck operative for holding a pipe section in position to be added or removed from a production string of a well. Storage rack members extend from the sides of the apparatus to hold pipe sections before they are added to a production string or after they are removed from a production string and laid down. A pipe section stored on the storage rack members can be rolled onto the deck and added to the production string from the deck. The storage racks can be put in a retracted position in proximity to the sides of the deck structure for storing or moving the apparatus and also put in an extended position to store pipe sections.
