Disclosed herein is a device for winterizing a pool of the type having at least two outlet nozzles and at least one skimmer, the skimmer having a skimmer drain, the device comprising; a hose having a pair of ends; a first fitting on one of the ends, the first fitting with an outer diameter which is threaded to fit the thread of the outlet nozzle; a second fitting on the other of the ends, the second fitting with an outer diameter which is arranged to fit the skimmer drain. Also disclosed is a kit for winterizing a pool, a technique for winterizing a back yard swimming pool and a pool installation.
