A tile spacer is disclosed. In a first configuration, the tool can be used to space and align tiles during their installation on a planar surface. In an alternate configuration, the spacer can also be used as a temporary border for the installation of tiles on a vertical surface. The tool can also be used to measure the distance between each tile while producing symmetric tile layouts.
