ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A machine tool vise for holding workpieces in position for cutting or grinding by milling machines and the like comprises a sta- tionary jaw and two movable jaws arranged to be moved toward and away from the stationary jaw by operation of a screw drive. The movable jaws are arranged to be driven along parallel lines by a yoke, the ends of which engage respective ones of the movable jaws, and the center of which is driven by the screw drive. The respective movable jaws are moved by the yoke until they engage a workpiece and move it against the stationary jaw, each end of the yoke moving until the jaw engages and secures the respective workpiece or part of the same workpiece. Either single workpieces or parts of a single workpiece may be securely held by the jaws.
