Angiogenesis is a complex biological phenomenon. Various signals and compounds have been shown to influence angiogenesis in vivo. Patients suffering from endothelial dysfunction often produce substantial amounts of the angiogenic factors such as bFGF and VEGF but still novel angiogenesis in these patients is not observed or insufficient. In the present invention it has been found that nitric oxide is capable of enhancing angiogenesis in endothelial dysfuncion. The present invention provides a nulceic acid delivery vehicle for enhancing and/or inducing angiogenesis, comprising a nucleic acid comprising at least one sequence coding for a protein capable of increasing nitric oxide production, and further comprising a nucleic delivery carrier.

L'angiogenèse est un phénomène biologique complexe et on a pu montrer que différents signaux et composés influaient sur l'angiogenèse in vivo. Des patients souffrant de troubles endothéliaux produisent souvent des quantités substantielles de facteurs angiogènes tels que le bFGF et le VEGF, mais toutefois, on n'a pas observé chez ces patients de nouvelle angiogenèse ou du moins en quantité suffisante. Dans la présente invention, on a découvert que le NO pouvait accroître l'angiogenèse en cas de troubles endothéliaux. L'invention porte en conséquence sur un véhicule distributeur d'acide nucléique accroissant ou induisant l'angiogenèse, comprenant au moins une séquence codant pour une protéine pouvant accroître la production de NO ainsi qu'un excipient libérateur de l'acide nucléique.
