This invention involves a process for manufacturing a normally solid perfluoroalkyl bromide by gas-phase thermal bromination of a perfluoroalkyl idodide (C10 or greater). The process takes place in the presence of a normally fluid perfluoroalkyl bromide. In this way, post-treatment operations (iodine reduction, decantation, neutralization-washing) can be performed at room temperature.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour fabriquer un bromure de perfluoroalkyle normalement solide par bromation thermique en phase gazeuse d'un iodure de perfluoroalkyle en C10 ou plus, on opère en présence d'un bromure de perfluoro-alkyle normalement liquide. Ceci permet d'effectuer les opérations de post-traitement (réduction de l'iode, décantation, neutralisation-lavage,...) à température ambiante.
