A spade/shovel combined tool for digging, cutting, mixing and shoveling is disclosed. The tool has a central portion at the forward edge thereof, which is recessed relative to a pair of forwardly extending spaced tips of the blade side portions in such a manner that the recessed portion can lie substantially parallel to a level surface when the tool is held at an angle between 47 to 52° relative to the ground.
