Methods for treating leukemia patients include analyzing gene expression profiles of a patient to determine whether the patient is likely to respond to treatment with farnesyl transferase inhibitor (FTI) and, optionally, other therapeutics. The methods are also useful for monitoring patient therapy and for selecting a course of therapy. Genes modulated in response to FTI treatment are provided and are used for formulating the profiles.

L'invention concerne des méthodes de traitement de patients atteints de leucémie. Cette méthode consiste à analyser les profils d'expression génétique d'un patient en vue de déterminer si ce patient est susceptible de répondre à un traitement faisant intervenir un inhibiteur de farnésyl transférase (FTI) et, éventuellement, d'autres agents thérapeutiques. Ces méthodes sont également utiles pour surveiller le traitement d'un patient et pour sélectionner une série de traitement. L'invention se rapporte également à des gènes modulés en réponse à un traitement par FTI, ces gènes étant utilisés pour formuler lesdits profils.
