A method of selecting a lactic acid bacterial strain which has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, which binds to oral mucin and which produces vitamin K. Use of which a strain, e.g. a strain of Lactobacillus reuteri, for treatment and prophylaxis of bleeding gum and gingivitis caused by oral inflammation.

L'invention concerne un procédé de sélection d'une souche bactérienne d'acide lactique présentant des propriétés antimicrobiennes et anti-inflammatoires, qui se lie à la mucine orale et qui produit de la vitamine K. L'invention concerne également une souche, par exemple une souche de Lactobacillus reuteri, pour le traitement et la prophylaxie du saignement des gencives et de la gingivite provoqués par une inflammation orale.
