Biological cells and other membranous structures are transfected in a flow-through system by using a moving charge pattern on a longitudinal wall of a channel to cause the cells to travel through the channel due to an electrostatic interaction between the cells and the moving charge pattern. As the cells travel through the channel, they pass a transmitter that emits transfection energy sufficient to make the cell membranes permeable such that exogenous species in the fluid in which the cells are suspended will enter the cell interiors.

L'invention concerne des cellules biologiques et d'autres structures membranaires transfectées dans un système d'écoulement selon un modèle de charge de déplacement sur une paroi longitudinale d'un canal permettant aux cellules de se déplacer dans le canal grâce à une interaction électrostatique entre les cellules et le modèle de charge de déplacement. Tandis que les cellules se déplacent dans le canal, elles passent dans un émetteur qui émet une énergie de transfection suffisante pour rendre les membranes cellulaires perméables de façon que les espèces exogènes du fluide dans lequel les cellules sont en suspens entrent dans les parties internes des cellules.
