An account holder initiates a transaction by providing a vendor (114) both account information as well as a specific Transaction Authorization Token (TAT) that was previously stored in a Token Log (110). The vendor passes the account information and TAT with the transaction information to an institution (122) responsible for authorizing one or more transactions involving the financial account. That institution determines whether or not to authorize the transaction by consulting the Token Log entry for the given TAT.

L'invention concerne un titulaire de compte qui lance une transaction en communiquant au vendeur des informations en matière de compte ainsi qu'un jeton d'autorisation de transaction spécifique (TAT) précédemment stocké dans un journal de jetons. Ledit vendeur communique ces informations à une institution chargée d'autoriser au moins une transaction impliquant le compte financier. Ladite institution détermine si elle doit ou non autoriser la transaction en consultant l'entrée du journal de jetons concernant le TAT en question.
