A method of forming a composite textile and ePTFE implantable device includes the steps of providing an ePTFE layer; providing a textile layer; applying a coating of an elastomeric bonding agent to one of the surfaces of the ePTFE layer or the textile layer; providing a hollow member having an open end and an opposed closed end defining a fluid passageway therebetween and having a wall portion with at least one hole extending therethrough, the hole being in fluid communication with the fluid passageway; concentrically placing the ePTFE layer and the textile layer onto the hollow member and over the at least one hole of the hollow member, thereby defining a composite assembly; placing the hollow member with the composite assembly within a pressure chamber; applying a pressure differential so that the pressure within the chamber is greater than a pressure within the fluid passageway of the hollow member; and applying heat to the bonding agent to adhesively bond the textile layer and the ePTFE layer to provide a laminated composite assembly.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de former un dispositif implantable composite en textile et ePTFE et comprenant les étapes consistant: à utiliser une couche de ePTFE; à utiliser une couche de textile; à appliquer un revêtement d'un agent de liaison élastomère sur une des surfaces de la couche de ePTFE ou de la couche de textile; à utiliser un élément creux présentant une extrémité ouverte et une extrémité fermée opposée définissant un passage fluidique entre celles-ci et comprenant une partie de paroi dotée d'au moins un trou s'étendant à travers celle-ci, le trou étant en communication fluidique avec le passage fluidique; à placer de manière concentrique la couche de ePTFE et la couche de textile sur l'élément creux et sur le trou de l'élément creux, définissant ainsi un ensemble composite; à placer l'élément creux avec l'ensemble composite dans une chambre de pression; à appliquer un différentiel de pression de manière que la pression dans la chambre soit supérieure à une pression dans le passage fluidique de l'élément creux; et à appliquer de la chaleur sur l'agent de liaison, de manière à lier de façon adhésive la couche de textile et le couche de ePTFE, aux fins d'obtention d'un ensemble composite stratifié.
