The present invention relates to compounds of the formula Image where R1, R2 and R3 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkoxy radicals having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms; R4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radicals having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and x and y may be the same or different and are each independently selected from a group of integers ranging from 1 to 10. These compounds may be used as silica couplers in rubber compositions.
