A method and system for enabling user interaction with computer software running in a computer system. A user is provided with an interface surface containing information relating to the computer software and including coded data indicative of an identity of the interface surface and of at least one reference point of the interface surface. The user places a sensing device into an operative position relative to the interface surface. In this opera-tive position, the sensing device senses indicating data indicative of: the identity of the interface surface; and a position of the sens-ing device relative to the interface surface, using at least some of the coded data. The computer system receives the indicating data from the sensing device, and uses the indicating data to identify at least one interactive element relating to the computer software. The computer software is then operated in accordance with instructions associated with the at least one interactive element.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système donnant la possibilité à un utilisateur d'entrer en interaction avec un logiciel informatique s'exécutant sur un système d'ordinateurs. Un utilisateur dispose d'une surface d'interface contenant de l'information se rapportant au logiciel d'ordinateur et incluant des données codées indicatives d'une identité de la surface d'interface et d'au moins un point de référence de la surface d'interface. L'utilisateur fait passer un lecteur en situation de fonctionnement par rapport à la surface d'interface. Dans cette situation de fonctionnement, le lecteur lit les données indicatrices indicatives de l'identité de la surface d'interface, et une situation du lecteur par rapport à la surface d'interface, par utilisation d'une partie au moins des données codées. Le système d'ordinateurs reçoit les données indicatrices en provenance des lecteurs, et utilise ces données indicatrices pour identifier l'un au moins des éléments interactifs se rapportant au logiciel d'ordinateurs. Le logiciel s'exécute alors en prenant en considération les instructions associées à l'élément interactif considéré.
