Abstract: Device for Slag-Free Pouring with Continuous Casting Machines The device has a conventional starting pipe on the inlet of discharge orifice (5) of a tundish and is characterized by a separate starting member, which is assigned to said loose starting pipe and floats upon reaching a desired level height (H). In this manner the device is improved with respect to its effect with simple means and enables automatically the timely outflow of slag-free melt at the starting pipe (12). (Figure 1)
