An apparatus for transferring a fast-running, ready-dried fibrous web from a first location to another with minimal undesirable motion is described. The apparatus includes an air foil defining a web support surface which extends substantially continuously from a first processing location to a second processing location, and includes at least two air supply channels extending substantially perpendicular to the direction of web travel across the air foil for providing flows of pressurized air between the foil and the web being processed in the general direction of web travel. In this way, a layer of reduced static pressure is provided which stabilizes the web against undesirable motion, while the build up of dust is minimized.

L'invention concerne un appareil destiné au transfert d'une feuille continue fibreuse séchée en mouvement rapide entre un premier emplacement et un second emplacement avec un minimum de mouvements indésirables. Cet appareil comprend un déflecteur d'air définissant une surface de support pour la feuille qui s'étend sensiblement de façon continue entre un premier emplacement de traitement et un second emplacement de traitement, ainsi qu'au moins deux canaux d'alimentation en air qui s'étendent sensiblement de façon perpendiculaire par rapport au sens de déplacement de la feuille, à travers le déflecteur d'air, destinés à fournir des flux d'air sous pression entre le déflecteur et la feuille traitée, dans le sens de déplacement de la feuille. Cet appareil permet ainsi d'obtenir une couche de pression statique réduite qui stabilise la feuille contre tout mouvement indésirable, tout en réduisant au minimum l'accumulation de poussière.
