A method for monitoring a clot dissolution treatment in a patient's vasculature comprises positioning a catheter at a treatment site in the patient's vasculature. The method further comprises performing a clot dissolution treatment at the treatment site. The clot dissolution treatment comprises delivering ultrasonic energy and a therapeutic compound from the catheter to the treatment site such that a clot located at the treatment site at least partially dissolves. The method further comprises delivering a thermal measurement signal from a first portion of the catheter to the treatment site during the clot dissolution treatment. The method further comprises receiving the thermal measurement signal at a second portion of the catheter. The method further comprises comparing the delivered thermal measurement signal with the received thermal measurement signal to evaluate a blood flow rate at the treatment site.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de surveiller un traitement de dissolution des caillots dans le système vasculaire d'un patient. Ce procédé consiste à positionner un cathéter sur un site de traitement du système vasculaire du patient et à effectuer un traitement de dissolution des caillots sur le site de traitement, lequel traitement de dissolution des caillots consiste à apporter de l'énergie ultrasonique et un composé thérapeutique du cathéter au site de traitement de sorte qu'un caillot situé sur le site de traitement se dissout au moins partiellement. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste également à apporter un signal de mesure thermique d'une première partie du cathéter au site de traitement pendant le traitement de dissolution des caillots ; à recevoir le signal de mesure thermique sur une seconde partie du cathéter ; enfin à comparer le signal de mesure thermique apporté avec le signal de mesure thermique reçu afin d'évaluer le débit sanguin sur le site de traitement.
