A system for providing listings groups of television programs and related information is provided. The present invention allows a sponsor to arbitrarily select a group of programs. The program guide system may display listings and information for the programs in the sponsored group. The program guide may also allow the user to record, bookmark, and set reminders for all the programs in the sponsored group. The listings groups may be compiled by computing equipment at the television distribution facility or user equipment from general program guide listings using criteria provided by the sponsor intended to identify programs that belong in the group.
La présente invention concerne un système qui fournit des groupes de listes de programmes de télévision et des informations concernant ces programmes. Cette invention permet à un commanditaire de choisir arbitrairement un groupe de programmes. Ce système guide de programme peut afficher des listes et des informations relatives aux programmes figurant dans le groupe commandité. Ce guide de programme peut aussi permettre à l'utilisateur d'enregistrer, d'entrer dans une liste privilégiée n'importe lequel de tous les programmes figurant dans le groupe commandité et d'établir des aide-mémoires pour ceux-ci. Ces groupes de listes peuvent être compilés par des équipements informatiques au niveau d'installation de distribution de télévision ou d'un équipement d'utilisateur à partir de listes générales de guide de programmes par l'utilisation de critères fournis par le commanditaire destinés à identifier les programmes appartenant au groupe.
