Two-piece fastener assembly for securing thermoplastic roof membranes to an underlying roof deck having: a batten bar coated with a thermoplastic coating on its top surface; a plurality of openings in the batten bar; and fasteners positioned in the plurality of openings for securing the batten bar and one thermoplastic roof membrane to the underlying roof deck. In a method aspect the steps of securing thermoplastic roof membranes to an underlying roof deck includes: placing a first thermoplastic roof membrane on the roof deck; placing a batten bar on the marginal portion of the first thermoplastic roof membrane and securing the batten bar along with the first thermoplastic roof membrane to the roof deck by use of the fasteners; placing a second thermoplastic roof membrane to overlap the batten bar and the marginal portion of the first thermoplastic roof membrane; and applying heat and pressure to the batten bar and the overlapped portion of the first and second thermoplastic roof membranes to fuse them together and provide a waterproof covering over the roof deck.
L'invention concerne un ensemble de fixation à deux pièces destiné à fixer les membranes de toit thermoplastiques à une toiture-terrasse sous-jacente comportant : une herse revêtue d'un revêtement thermoplastique sur sa surface supérieure, plusieurs ouvertures ménagée dans la herse; et des dispositifs de fixation positionnés dans les ouvertures en vue de fixer la herse et une membrane de toit thermoplastique à la toiture-terrasse sous-jacente. Dans un des aspects du procédé, les étapes de fixation des membranes de toit thermoplastiques à une toiture-terrasse sous-jacente consiste : à placer une première membrane de toit thermoplastique sur la toiture-terrasse, à placer une herse sur la partie d'extrémité de la première membrane de toit thermoplastique et à fixer cette herse et la membrane à la toiture-terrasse au moyen des dispositifs de fixation, à placer une seconde membrane de toit thermoplastique destinée à recouvrir la herse et la partie d'extrémité de la première membrane de toit thermoplastique et à appliquer une chaleur et une pression sur la herse et la partie recouverte des première et seconde membranes de toit thermoplastique afin de les faire fusionner et de produire un revêtement étanche sur la toiture-terrasse.
