The present invention seeks to provide improved methods and kits for determining the appropriate treatment for cancer, more specifically for determining the likelihood of successful treatment of cancer using antimetabolic compounds. The methods and kits allow assessment of the CIMP status of a subject which is useful for predicting the likelihood of successful treatment of cancer with an antimetabolic compound. Methods of treatment and of selecting a suitable treatment regimen, together with medical compositions, are all within the scope of the invention.
