-20- ABSTRACT A process for selectively immobilizing viral glycoproteins on lectin-coated surfaces for use in solid phase immunoassays is disclosed. This method does not require that the virus or antigen be purified prior to immobilization. This method provides an inexpensive and effective immunoassay method to screen fluids for the presence of viral antibodies.
