Disclosed is a scroll-type fluid machine comprising a fixed scroll and a revolving scroll, each scroll comprising an end plate on which a spiral lap is mounted, wherein the scrolls are eccentrically engaged in a manner such that both spiral laps are engaged with each other, and such that phases of the scrolls are different from each other, a boss provided in and projecting from a central area in a surface of the end plate of the revolving scroll, the surface being opposite to the surface on which the spiral lap is mounted, and a drive bush freely rotatably inserted into the boss. The scroll- type fluid machine also comprises a rotational shaft rotationally coupled with the revolving scroll via a revolving-radius variable mechanism which includes the boss and the drive bush, a balance weight, having an upper face, attached to the drive bush, and a float- protecting pin having a head with a back face, a part of the back face of the head of the pin being in contact with the upper face of the balance weight, the shaft of the pin freely rotatably passing through a hole provided in the balance weight, and an end part of the pin shaft being fixed to a larger-diameter portion at one end of the rotational shaft, the larger- diameter portion being at the drive bush side, wherein a part of the head of the float- protecting pin, the part being at the side of the drive bush, is cut. Accordingly, the attachment position of the pin can he closer to the drive bush side, the size of the structure in an area neighboring the pin can be reduced, and the diameter of the shaft of the pin can become larger so as to strengthen the shaft.
