The invention relates to a method for key recovery cryptography to be used in a system consisting of: - two conversation partners who exchange secret information in encrypted form with each other by way of the public telecommunications infrastructure; - one or more legitimate co-listeners possibly present (for example,a government agency, or an employer of the conversation partners), who do have the enciphered information at their disposal, but are not able to decipher it; - one or more trusted parties (known as Trusted Recovery Parties - TRPs) in principle different from the conversation partners, who act as virtual conversation partners, who can decipher the information, but do not have the enciphered information at their disposal; - one or more monitors possibly present for monitoring the exchange between the conversation partners (for example, one of the conversation partners, a PTT or an employer of the conversation partners), in which the conversation partners as part of the exchange also make the same secret information available to the abovementioned co-listener if the latter acquires cooperation (simultaneously, or with some delay) from one of the TRPs (or several in the event of splitting or sharing techniques being used), in the process the conversation partners also send additional information at the same time, known as binding data, by means of which the monitor can check that said making of information available can also be carried out properly, without the monitor having to have at his disposal secret information. Characteristic of themethod is that it relates to an exchange in which the secret information is encrypted with the asymmetrical systems RSA, Rabin or Diffie-Hellman or a combination thereof.
Méthode de cryptographie à récupération de clé, destinée à un système consistant en : deux interlocuteurs qui échangent entre eux de l'information secrète chiffrée au moyen d'une infrastructure de télécommunications publique; - éventuellement, un ou plusieurs auditeurs légitimes (p. ex. un organisme gouvernemental ou un employeur des interlocuteurs), qui ont l'information chiffrée à leur disposition, mais ne sont pas en mesure de la déchiffrer; - une ou plusieurs personnes de confiance pour la récupération (appelées « TRP ») qui sont en principe différentes des interlocuteurs, jouent le rôle d'interlocuteurs virtuels et peuvent déchiffrer l'information, mais qui n'ont pas l'information chiffrée à leur disposition; - un ou plusieurs contrôleurs éventuellement présents pour contrôler l'échange entre les interlocuteurs (p. ex. un des interlocuteurs, un PTT ou un employeur des interlocuteurs), au cours duquel les interlocuteurs mettent également la même information secrète à la disposition de l'auditeur précité si ce dernier acquiert la collaboration (simultanément, ou un peu plus tard) de l'un des TRP (ou de plusieurs en cas d'utilisation de techniques de séparation ou de partage). En outre, au cours de la conversation, les interlocuteurs envoient en même temps d'autres informations, appelées données de liaison, au moyen desquelles le contrôleur peut veiller à ce que la mise d'information à la disposition de l'auditeur se fasse comme il se doit, sans que le contrôleur ait à avoir d'information secrète à sa disposition. La méthode a pour caractéristique de concerner un échange au cours duquel de l'information secrète est chiffrée au moyen de systèmes asymétriques RSA, Rabin ou Diffie-Hellman, ou d'une combinaison de ces systèmes.
