A carrying case (1) having a body (4) in which to transport a workstation including a personal computer, computer peripherals (e.g. a printer), and a source of battery power. Located within and extending along one side of the body (4) of the carrying case (1) is a shroud (12) having a cover (14) that is spaced above the body. Pockets (16, 18) are formed through the cover (14) at opposite ends of the shroud (12). A switch module (20) having a series of manually operable function switches (22) is removably received within one of the pockets (18) at one end of the shroud (12). A connector module (30) is removably received within the other pocket (16) at the opposite end of the shroud (12) and adapted to interconnect an available power source, the personal computer, and the computer peripherals within the body (4) of the carrying case (1) without having to disturb either the computer or the peripherals. The function switches (22) of the switch module (20) are selectively operated so that appropriate power and control signals are supplied to the computer and peripherals via the connector module (30).
La présente invention se rapporte à une mallette de transport (1) comportant un bâti dans lequel il est possible de transporter une station de travail intégrant un ordinateur personnel, des périphériques informatiques (par exemple une imprimante), et une source d'alimentation par batterie. Un boîtier protecteur (12), qui est disposé à l'intérieur du bâti (4) de la mallette de transport (1) le long d'un des côtés dudit bâti, possède un couvercle (14) qui est situé à une certaine distance au-dessus du bâti. Des poches (16, 18) sont formées dans le couvercle (14) au niveau des extrémités opposées du boîtier protecteur (12). Un module de commutation (20) comportant une série de commutateurs de fonctions actionnables manuellement (22) est logé de manière amovible dans l'une des poches (18) au niveau d'une extrémité du boîtier protecteur (12). Un module de connexion (30) est logé de manière amovible à l'intérieur de l'autre poche (16) au niveau de l'extrémité opposée du boîtier protecteur et est conçu pour assurer l'interconnexion entre une source d'alimentation disponible, l'ordinateur personnel et les périphériques informatiques disposés à l'intérieur du bâti (4) de la mallette de transport (1) sans perturber ni l'ordinateur ni les périphériques. Les commutateurs de fonctions (22) du module de commutation (20) sont actionnés sélectivement de sorte que des signaux d'alimentation et de commande appropriés sont délivrés à l'ordinateur et aux périphériques par l'intermédiaire du module de connexion (30).
