Case No. 8203 REMOVAL OF HEAT STABLE ANIONS FROM ALKANOLAMINE SALTS Abstract Aqueous alkanolamine solution containing acidic anions which form heat stable salts with alkanolamine and low levels of metal cations, such as iron, is reactivated by contacting the solution with a basic anion exhange resin to remove such] anions. The exchange resin is then contacted with a base to displace the anions. Iron buildup in the resin is removed periodically by an acid wash.
