closing instrument that is placed between the lid of a container (eg, paint, glue, finishes, etc) and the tool used to pound it shut. The closing tool serves as an intermediary object which protects the container and the lid from becoming deformed. It has an L-shaped extruded rigid structure; the upper part, which is horizontal, is designed to receive the blows from the pounding tool. The other part, which is vertical, lies on the lid, preferably in the groove thereof.

Lorsqu'on enfonce le couvercle, l'outil intermédiare de fermeture, placé sur le couvercle, protège le contenant et le couvercle contre les déformations. L'outil comprend une structure rigide, de type profilé en L, dont la partie supérieure est horizontale et est destinée à recevoir les coups de l'outil de frappe. L'autre partie qui est verticale repose sur le couvercle, préférablement dans la rainure de celui-ci.
