A dynamic authentication process having multiple tiers of validation. A first tier of validation (104) authenticates the credit transaction based upon static personal identification numbers. If this first tier of validation is satisfied (106), a threshold determination is made as to whether a secondary tier of validation is required (110). These thresholds are defined by either the service provider or the card holder to address the additional costs of a second tier of validation.

L'invention décrit un procédé d'authentification à phases de validation multiples. Une première phase de validation (104) authentifie la transaction de crédit sur la base de numéros d'identification personnels statiques. Si les exigences de cette première phase de validation sont satisfaites (106), une détermination de seuil est effectuée pour savoir si une deuxième phase de validation est nécessaire (110). Ces seuils sont définis soit par le prestataire de service, soit par le titulaire de la carte, et permettent de déterminer les frais supplémentaires d'une deuxième phase de validation.
