ABSTRACT A micro-filter device, suitable for removing micro-organisms such as mycoplasma from biological fluids comprises two filters in series. The first is a pre-filter. The second is a porous asymmetric inorganic membrane, in which the pores adjacent one face are larger diameter than those adjacent the other face, the large-pore face being positioned facing upstream.
