There is provided an isocyanate or hydroxyl terminated prepolymer made by reacting a stoichiometric excess of an organic polyisocyanate with polyols made of at least a polyoxyalkylene polyether triol or a mixture thereof with a polyoxyalkylene polyether diol. The triol or diol has a degree of unsaturation of 0.06 meq KOH/g of polyol or less and has within its structure the nucleus of an initiator compound, an internal block of oxypropylene groups, and a second block of oxyalkylene groups, wherein the internal block of oxypropylene is between said nucleus and said second block said second block is made of oxyalkylene groups derived from a C4 or higher alkylene oxide. The amount of the internal block of oxypropylene groups is from 25 weight percent to 80 weight percent based on the weight of all oxyalkylene groups and initiator in the polyether polymer, and the amount of the second block is effective to reduce the degree of unsaturation of said polyether to 0.06 meq KOH/g of polyol or less.

n décrit un prépolymère à groupement terminal isocyanate ou hydroxyle obtenu en faisant réagir un excès stoechiométrique d'un polyisocyanate organique avec des polyols constitués d'au moins un polyoxyalkylène-polyéther-triol ou d'un mélange de polyoxyalkylène-polyéther-triol avec un polyoxyalkylène-polyéther-diol. Le triol ou diol possède un degré d'insaturation de 0,06 mEq KOH/g de polyol ou moins et sa structure présente le noyau d'un composé initiateur, un bloc interne de groupes oxypropylène et un second bloc de groupes oxyalkylène, où le bloc interne d'oxypropylène se situe entre ledit noyau et ledit second bloc, lequel second bloc est constitué de groupes oxyalkylène dérivés d'un oxyde d'alkylène en C4 ou plus. Le bloc interne de groupes oxyalkylène représente entre 25 et 80 % en poids, en fonction du poids de tous les groupes oxyalkylène et de l'initiateur dans le polyéther, et le second bloc est présent en quantité suffisante pour réduire le degré d'insaturation dudit polyéther à 0,06 mEq KOH/g de polyol ou moins.
