ABSTRACT A method and apparatus for shredding tires com- prises debeading the tire, cutting it diametrically into segments, and then spreading the sidewalls apart while flattening each segment and feeding the segment into a shredding cutter causing the shredding of the tire while the segment is held in a flattened condition.
