. An intraoral orthopedic appliance (10) with orthopedic screw adjustment mechanism (30) and method of manufacture adjustably attaches an appliance upper dental part (26) and lower dental part (28) together. The adjustment changes anterior-posterior relationship of the two parts. The appliance (10) includes a pair of orthopedic screw adjustment mechanisms (30) on opposite sides of the dental arch which connect the two parts (26, 28) together to provide the adjustment. The orthopedic screw adjustment mechanism includes an orthopedic screw (35) which is used to adjust the spacing between a first part A (32) and a second part B (34). First part A (32) and second part B (34) are attached to the dental upper part (26) and the dental lower part (28) so as to provide for a limited movement between the two parts. This allows the patient to move the lower jaw a limited amount with respect to the upper jaw.
Cette invention se rapporte à un appareil orthopédique intra-buccal équipé d'un mécanisme de réglage (30) à vis orthopédique ainsi qu'à un procédé de fabrication qui permet de fixer l'une de l'autre, de manière réglable, la partie dentaire supérieure (26) et la partie dentaire inférieure (28) d'un appareil. Le réglage modifie la relation antéro-postérieure des deux parties. L'appareil (10) comporte une paire de mécanismes de réglage (30) à vis orthopédique, disposés de part et d'autre de l'arcade dentaire qui relie les deux parties (26, 28) entre elles pour permettre le réglage. Le mécanisme de réglage à vis orthopédique comporte une vis orthopédique (35) qui sert à régler l'espacement entre une première partie A (32) et une seconde partie B (34). La première partie A (32) et la seconde partie B (34) sont fixées à la partie dentaire supérieure (26) et à la partie dentaire inférieure (28) afin de limiter le mouvement entre les deux parties. Ceci permet au patient de déplacer la mâchoire inférieure dans une mesure limitée par rapport à la mâchoire supérieure.
