An arrangement to assist in heat transfer through a mold for applications such as injection molding of plastics material including at least one closed chamber within the mold, the chamber being only partially filled with liquid and a remainder of the chamber being filled with substantially only vapour of the liquid within the chamber, at least a portion of the chamber being positioned to transmit heat from a targeted location of the mold into liquid within the chamber, and condensing means adapted by reason of heat exchange to effect condensation of vapour within the chamber, the liquid being retained at or distributed so as to reach different heights within the chamber. This is achieved in one case by the addition of a foaming agent in the liquid. In another case by having a flock attached to the inner surface of the chamber. In a further example there are separate tiers of reservoirs holding the liquid above a base level of the liquid.

L'invention porte sur un dispositif favorisant le transfert de chaleur dans la masse d'un moule, notamment pour les moules à matières plastiques. Ce dispositif comprend à l'intérieure du moule au moins une chambre fermée partiellement remplie de liquide, le restant du volume étant rempli sensiblement uniquement de vapeur du liquide. En l'occurrence, une partie au moins de la chambre est disposée de façon à transmettre au liquide contenu par la chambre la chaleur d'un point désigné du moule Le dispositif comporte également un condensateur qui, sous l'effet de l'échange thermique, condense la vapeur contenue dans la chambre. Le moule est agencé pour que le liquide, notamment l'eau, se maintienne dans la chambre de façon que la distribution du liquide lui permette d'atteindre différentes hauteurs dans la chambre ou de s'y maintenir. A cet effet, on peut soit ajouter un agent moussant dans le liquide, soit plaquer un flocage contre l'intérieur de la chambre. On peut également disposer de réservoirs en gradins retenant le liquide au-dessus d'un niveau de base du liquide.
