A TRAMPOLINE HAVING SAFETY FEATURES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A trampoline is constructed with safety features in which the supporting frame has a series of T-joints economically made from identical stamped halves that are bolted together to grasp telescopically assembled tubular sections forming a top rail. The interior surface of the T-joint has dimples that are made when the piece is stamped to fit into holes in the top rail to securely join the pieces. A formed safety pad is made in segments from rubber or closed cell polyurethane and joined by locking ties to form a contoured ring to enclose the top rail and spring, joining the mat to the top rail. Bond eyes are inserted in slits around the periphery of the mat and the edge of the mat is folded over legs on the bond eyes and the molded mat edge stitched to the mat to provide a secure base for the bond eye. The bond eye forms a strong point to attach the mat by springs to the top rail.
