An electronic cash register for registering items of articles on sale in a chit file and performing a transaction settlement processing by computing a total amount of registered items on the basis of data stored in the chit file. As structural constituent factors of the chit file, there are set in the electronic cash register a maximum customer number per chit, a maximum number of items for registration per chit and a maximum number of chit files capable of being disposed by the cash register through manipulation of corresponding keys. The cash register includes a unit for generating chit file suited for configuration of a shop where the cash register is used, and a unit for setting control information for issuing the chit file, provisional closing of the file, recalling thereof, issuance of a bill. Upon registration, issuance of a bill, settlement of transaction or issuance of adjustment report, the control information is referenced to realize functions and controls on the basis of the information as placed in the cash register.

Une caisse enregistreuse électronique pour l'inscription d'articles en vente dans un fichier de coupons et pour le traitement de règlements de transactions en calculant le montant total des articles enregistrés d'après les données enregistrées dans le fichier de coupons. Comme constituants de la structure du fichier de coupons, on a paramétré dans la caisse enregistreuse électronique un nombre maximal de coupons par client, un nombre maximal d'articles à inscrire par coupon et un nombre maximal de fichiers de coupons pouvant être déposés par la caisse au moyen de la manipulation des touches correspondantes. La caisse enregistreuse comprend une unité de génération de fichiers de coupons adaptés à la configuration de la boutique où la caisse a été installée, et une unité pour le réglage de l'information de contrôle en vue de l'émission du fichier de coupons, pour la fermeture provisoire du fichier, son rappel, l'émission d'un facture. Au moment de l'enregistrement, de l'émission d'une facture, du règlement d'une transaction ou de l'émission d'un rapport d'ajustement, l'information de contrôle est consultée afin de réaliser des fonctions et de diriger les contrôles d'après les informations placées dans la caisse.
