Disclosed is a mandrel for a rotationally symmetric hollow member embodied as a beverage can that is monolithically composed of a body and a bottom. The aim of the invention is to transmit accurate coupling and precise controlling of the movement of the mandrel to the hollow member. Said aim is achieved by providing several clamping segments (2; 2a, 2b, 2c) that form an outward- facing cylindrical clamping area (16) so as to grip an internal surface of the hollow member. The clamping segments are guided in a radially movable manner. A force transmitting mechanism (10, 13) that is arranged inside the mandrel (1) is used for synchronously controlling the radial movement of the clamping segments (2) such that a hollow member which is clamped by the clamping device can be accurately moved in a controlled fashion.

L'invention concerne un mandrin de serrage pour un corps creux à symétrie de rotation qui constitue une boîte-boisson formée d'un corps et d'un fond d'un seul tenant. Un accouplement exact et une commande précise du mouvement du mandrin de serrage doivent être transmis au corps creux. A cet effet, le mandrin de serrage selon l'invention présente plusieurs segments de serrage (2 ; 2a, 2b, 2c) qui forment une surface de serrage cylindrique (16) orientée vers l'extérieur et qui sont appliqués contre une surface intérieure du corps creux. Ces segments de serrage sont guidés de manière à être déplaçables radialement. Un dispositif de transmission de force (10, 13) placé à l'intérieur du mandrin de serrage (1) sert à la commande synchrone du mouvement radial des segments de serrage (2). On obtient ainsi un mouvement de précision contrôlé d'un corps creux porté par le dispositif de serrage.
