There is disclosed a flexible pool cover for winterizing a pool. The pool cover has a central layer of flexible polyolefin material with first and second opposed surfaces and a first outer coating layer on the first surface and a second outer coating layer on the second surface. The first outer coating layer has a first color and the second outer coating layer has a second color in which the light/heat absorption characteristics of the first color are different than the light absorption characteristics of the second color. A substantially continuous border extends about the periphery of the cover with tie down means being provided on each of the first and second surfaces and spaced about the periphery of the cover.
