An apparatus and method for growing plants in a growing room includes a hanging member hav-ing a substantially planar configuration, oriented vertical-ly. At least one carriage is disposed on the hanging mem-ber to support growing plants. A nutrient delivery system has a conduit to deliver nutrients to the hanging member and to recycle any unused nutrients.
