The invention relates to a transgenic plant, which can produce isomaltulose, to a transgenic plant, which can produce 6-O-.alpha.-D-glucopyranosyl-D- sorbitol, to a transgenic plant, which can produce 1-O-.alpha.-D- glucopyranosyl-D-mannitol and to a transgenic plant, which can produce a mixture of 1,6-GPS and 1,1-GPM. The invention also relates to breeding and harvest material of these plants and to methods for producing said transgenic plants.
