A process for reducing fume, dust and/or smoke emission in transferring molten metal, entailing: a) blanketing molten metal, preferably steel or iron with, at least, solid carbon dioxide; and b) allowing the carbon dioxide to sublime, thereby restricting free air access to the molten metal, and reducing fume, dust and/or smoke emission therefrom.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour limiter les émanations de vapeur, de poussière et/ou de fumée pendant un transfert de métal liquide. Ledit procédé consiste à: a) recouvrir le métal liquide, de préférence de l'acier ou du fer, avec au moins un dioxyde de carbone solide; et b) à laisser sublimer le dioxyde de carbone, ce qui permet de limiter l'accès de l'air libre au métal liquide et de diminuer les émanations de vapeur, de poussière et/ou de fumée dudit métal liquide.
