A disposable pull-on diaper 1 having of a briefs-type absorbent structure 2 and a trunks-type cover 3 adapted to conceal the absorbent structure 2. The cover 3 comprises substantially a pair of sheets 16, 17 placed upon each other and at least one of these two sheets 16, 17 is formed with a pair of pleats extending in parallel to and symmetrically of a center line dividing a width of the diaper 1 in two, the one of the pleats presenting a Z-shaped cross-section and the other presenting an inverted Z-shaped cross-section.
