Methods are provided for transitioning between SIP and MIP. Mobile devices, upon detecting a new system, automatically attempt a MIP session to avoid the default position of SIP. A history is maintained of systems visited, and for systems that did not support MIP in the past, a MIP session is not attempted, but rather SIP is initiated from the start.

La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant de passer d'un IP simple (SIP) à un IP mobile (MIP). Des dispositifs mobiles, au moment de la détection d'un nouveau système, tentent automatiquement d'ouvrir une session MIP afin d'éviter la position défectueuse du SIP. Un historique des systèmes visités est mis à jour et, pour les systèmes qui n'avaient pas pu fonctionner avec le MIP dans le passé, l'ouverture d'une session MIP n'est pas mise en oeuvre, c'est plutôt un SIP qui est déclenché dés le départ.
